This is a key position ensuring products are made to product specification using the correct test methods. Ensuring sampling is compliant with all in-process quality checks and the standards required to manufacture product to the correct specification. Continually maintaining the control of the product and seeking improvement opportunities to enhance product and/or processKey Duties and Responsibilities
- Work within the team to ensure Quality standards are maintained
- Responsible for data collection, trending of results, and the application of SPC techniques.
- Demonstrates sufficient technical knowledge of processes to differentiate manufacturing defects
- Ability to perform Quality Control tests, final shipper inspections, reporting results and take appropriate resultant actions.
- Highlight areas for Continuous improvement opportunities and standardization across the production lines, performing spot checks
- Ability to understand technical specifications e.g., Quality Control Drawings, Quality Control plans and pFMEAs
- Responsible for ensuring that Manufacturing deliver consistently high-quality outputs.
- Competent in spreadsheet (Excel) and Minitab to analyse data.
- Understanding of GMP, GDP
- Understanding of EHS requirements
- Ability to train and coach new and existing operators where required
- Proactive in approach and actively supports the ongoing Continuous Improvement program and associated activities
- Understanding of the requirement of internal business systems i.e., SAP transactions, process/line reporting data collection
- Escalation of data or processing issues, co-ordinate Non-conformances to ensure appropriate actions are implemented.
- Oversight of all in-process testing
- Responsible for the preparation, hosting, and management of the Process Control Review Board.
- Responsible for sampling plan management including document updates. (EDMS)
- Support NCs and RCAs for manufacturing issues.
- Approval of intermediate batch records

Education/Experience/Qualifications
- Education to A Level or equivalent qualification preferably Mathematics or Science
- Experience of working within a high-volume continuous production environment.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques and process control
- Knowledge of Convatec’s manufacturing and packaging processes.
- Experience in Good Manufacturing Practices and Environmental Health & Safety standards.
- Knowledge of working within a controlled environment.
- Must be proficient with PC programs i.e., Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), SAP, Minitab
- Experience of working within Medical Devices Industry
- Experience of ISO 13485, FDA, and all applicable regulations.
